Volunteering for bingo may differ from any other volunteering activities and tasks you’ve been a part of as there are highly regulated industry policies and standards set by the OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming), the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario), OCGA (Ontario Charitable Gaming Association) and the City of Thunder Bay.
The benefits of taking up the role of a volunteer are enormous. The right match can help you find friends, help you reach the required number of community involvement hours, establish a relationship with your community and even advance your career.
There are mandatory requirements for both the bingo volunteers and employees of the Superior Shores Gaming Association.

The following are the responsibilities and requirements of a Bingo Volunteer, but are not limited to:

  1. You must be at least 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
  2. Every volunteer must contact the selected organization and ensure to apply as a bonafide member of that chosen organization.
  3. Each organization/group must have a minimum of two (2) volunteers on the gaming floor for their 4 hours game session which occurs once or twice a month.
  4. Bingo volunteers are required to participate in the training session prior to your first day on the job.
  5. You will be responsible for ensuring the players are welcomed and responding to their questions.
  6. If you hear someone call BINGO!, echo BINGO out.
  7. According to the OLG regulations, each volunteer should not be subjected in participating only at the bingo games, but are encouraged to partake in the other volunteer opportunities offered by your organization.
  8. Volunteers are limited to three (3) organizations for the Bingo sign-ups.
  9. Other responsibilities will be determined on the assigned training date.

All valued members of Volunteer Thunder Bay (VTB) are also members of the Superior Shores Gaming Association.
