We are looking for volunteer canvassers to participate in our Door-to-Door campaign from now to September in support of Arthritis Awareness month. The annual Door-to-Door campaign is vital to the Arthritis Society’s ability to support and advocate for the residents of Northern Ontario who suffer from this chronic disease that can be devastating and often life-threatening.
Donations collected help the Arthritis Society deliver on its mission to invest in modern research, proactive advocacy and innovative solutions. It is because of generous volunteers and donors that the Society is able to provide education/services to Canadians living with arthritis while searching for a cure.
Volunteers are provided with a canvassing kit that includes all supplies needed to canvass (receipt booklet, donation collection envelope, volunteer identification stickers, pamphlets, and an instruction sheet). Ages 18+ preferred.
Roles of a Canvasser:
- canvass door-to-door in an area of one’s choice at any time of convenience.
- collect donations (in cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard and American Express) and complete a receipt for each transaction.
- ensure the security of confidential information.
- time commitment: 1-2 hours of your time; although, any time spent canvassing is greatly appreciated.
Once canvassing is complete, the kit and donations can be dropped off at the Arthritis Society, or kit pick-up can be arranged.
