Description

XTERRA Sleeping Giant Off-Road Festival represents an internationally recognized event brand with grassroots origins

The Festival provides a local event supported by the community with opportunities to qualify for international competition. Each summer since 2014, the Festival has offered triathlon, duathlon and trail running events at the scenic Sleeping Giant Provincial Park.
The triathlon event offers Age‑Group qualification opportunities to both the 2019 XTERRA World Championships in Maui, Hawaii and the 2020 ITU Cross World Championships in Almere, Netherlands.
ADDRESS
Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, R.R. #1, Pass Lake Ontario P0T 2M0.
Approximately 75min from Thunder Bay (85km): From Thunder Bay head East on Hwy 17, turn left on Hwy 587 until you come to the Sleeping Giant Camp Ground.  You’ve arrived!

How does our event support the community?
The Festival provides the only local triathlon or duathlon event in the vicinity of the City of Thunder Bay. There are many athletes in the city and region that travel out of town, and indeed, out of the country to find events to pursue their passion.
Your support will greatly assist in the financial stability of our event and provide a local racing opportunity to current athletes and a local event to future participants who are
looking to improve their lives through fitness, challenging themselves and learning new skills.
This event provides a variety of opportunities for participation in addition to highlighting the beauty of the Thunder Bay region and the north shore of Lake Superior.

We are looking for volunteers who can help with several tasks during the event.
They include course set up, food preparation, course control, feeding stations, and traffic and parking control. We are looking for approximately 50-60 people, so large groups would be more than welcome.
If you wish to be a great addition to our team, ensure to complete the “Click to Volunteer” form below.
