Description

Volunteering at the Thunder Bay Military Family Resources Centre

The Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre was established in 1999, and is one of 43 Military Family Resource Centres located in Canada and across Europe.
It is a community based, not-for-profit organization that provides Canadian Forces families with coordinated, consistent and effective services. These services are primarily preventative in nature and take into account the unique challenges facing Canadian Forces families.
We make it our mission to enhance the quality of life and to enrich the military experience for Canadian Forces families in Thunder Bay, by providing specialized programs and services to promote health, education and social well being.

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community in return for what we receive. Whether it’s for a few days or once a year, we can always use your help to offer services to our military community.
There are various engaging events, volunteer positions and ongoing opportunities in which you can apply for such as our Remembrance Day event, helpers needed for the Branch 5 Legion (veterans organization) support, the annual Christmas card Gernik Project, and so much more!

Once accepted as a volunteer, one of the criteria will be to obtain a current CRC (criminal record check) depending on the job tasks at hand.
