Description
Volunteer Thunder Bay is a non-profit organization and a proud member of Superior Shores Gaming Association. Bingo and Gaming proceeds are very important to the stability of our organization.
Only three Bingo time slots are assigned to us by Superior Shores each month and are usually evening or late night sessions. The shifts are 2 hours in length (5-7pm, 7-9pm, 9-11pm, and 11-1am). Our volunteers choose the shifts they can cover. Two volunteers are needed for each shift.
If other shifts become available (during the day) Volunteer Thunder Bay has the opportunity to pick an extra bingo that month.
Our volunteers are not involved with the operations of the Bingo (sales, verifying winning bingos, questions about the games, etc.) The volunteers are responsible for greeting players as they arrive (Bingo and Gaming areas). We tour these areas on a regular basis to see if anyone needs assistance from the staff. After every bingo, and once a valid bingo has been confirmed, we are responsible to collect discarded bingo cards.
We are looking for individual volunteers (age 18+) to assist us. This is an opportunity for a couple to cover a shift. If you are a bingo player yourself, then you will understand what happens during the games. If you already volunteer with another non-profit organization, then you understand what is required. Volunteers are allowed to assist with 3 organizations.
