Join Habitat for Humanity in the ReStore – the store that helps build homes in our community! There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for all skills levels. You must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
ReStore Volunteer Opportunities:
1) General ReStore Crew: General ReStore crew members can help in all aspects of the day-to-day customer service operation of the ReStore – helping customers find items, preparing sales displays, assisting customers with loading their vehicles, as keeping the store clean and a pleasant shopping experience for customers. General ReStore Crew volunteers must be over the age of 16.
2) Donations Centre Crew: Donations Centre Crew Members help with unloading donations received, testing and repairing donated items, pricing, inventorying and preparing sales displays. Donations Centre volunteers must be over the age of 16.
3) Driver and Driver Assistant: Drivers and driver assistants help the ReStore by picking up community donations throughout Thunder Bay.
Drivers must be over the age of 25, with a valid G License and clean drivers abstract.
4) Salvage Crew: Salvage Crew members work on an on-call basis to remove items from donors’ homes and businesses, such as kitchen cabinets, furniture, and other salvageable building materials. Salvage Crew members must be over the age of 18, complete a criminal records check and provide 2 references, and must be able to work as part of a team.
