Description

The Biomass North Development Centre BNDC is seeking volunteers to assist with a two-day event (three days of volunteering) to be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Event: Biomass North Forum 2018. Mapping Canada’s Bioeconomy: Drivers, Roadblocks and Bridges.
When: October 16th – 18th, 2018.
October 16th 3:00 p.m – 10:00 p.m, October 17th 7:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m, October 18th 7:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m.
Where: Valhalla Inn Hotel – 1 Valhalla Inn Rd, Thunder Bay, Ontario P7E 6J1

We require volunteers of at least 18 years old or older to assist us with some key components of this event.
For instance we need volunteers to tend and monitor the registration booth, and to assist with digital presentations and AV equipment.

Transportation to/from the venue will be the responsibility of the volunteer.
Meals and refreshments will be provided.
Any specific tasks, orientation, meetings, etc.

1. Volunteer Position #1: Registration Assistant – 3 available spots
   Key Responsibilities:
   • Tend the registration booth at the event – registration, distribute event materials, accept payments, direct participants, etc.
   • Assist with set-up and clean-up.
   • Other duties as assigned.
   Qualifications:
   • Excellent communication skills.
   • Excellent organizational skills.
   • Comfortable handling money.
2. Volunteer Position #2: Technology Assistant – 3 available spots
   Key Responsibilities:
   • Control presentations and audiovisual during the event – upload speaker presentations, control volume levels, change slides (where needed), etc.
   • Assist with set-up and clean-up.
   • Other duties as assigned.
   Qualifications:
   • Experience with operating presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint).
   • Some experience with audiovisual equipment (e.g. projector, audio speakers).
   • Excellent communication skills.
   • Excellent organizational skills.
